As I told before, for me the winter months are the hardest to deal with, especially when working on bigger projects like oil paintings. The colours seem to take three times longer to dry and it is a challange to use the short frame offered by daylight to be able to mix the desired shadings into them. Instead of getting frustrated because things take their time, for me it is a help to work on different skills contemporary (pencil, watercolours, acrylic).
A friend invited me to his zoom-drawing-group at the weekend. I must admit, I don’t like to paint or draw in group very much. The talking and laughing is an amusing relief but I really have problems to get myself into the drawing and painting when listening or answering stuff ;). And (I think you guys understand what I mean:) via Skype or Zoom it is much more straining to follow the conversation than being live in a course together with others where the distance caused by room makes it impossible to follow all the talking and gaggling inside there. But I gave it a try – and it was a nice Sunday afternoon experiance 🙂 – thanks for persuading me, Daniel!!!
I made a simple compromise: 45 minutes talking and laughing and 15 minutes drawing :)!!! The subject of that Sunday-Zoom drawing appointment was “Enjoy Your Break”. See my little sketch above.
Wishing you a great week!! Stay save!!!
